Dye Elementary Closing Statement

It’s hard to believe that another year has come to a close. Over the 177515458course of this year, we have read over 3,000 books, given over 1,500 free books to students and spent countless hours on other activities involving reading. As you can see, reading is a priority here at Dye Elementary. Our goal is to have EVERY student become a reader. In order to maintain the skills that students have acquired, students should continue reading over the summer months. Ten minutes a day is what we are asking each student to do. Help us to accelerate your child’s learning by having them read 5 days a week. (50 minutes out of 168 hours is doable!) The area libraries and bookstore have various activities over the summer to encourage reading in a fun way.
