CAHS Students Learn About Career Opportunities on a Field Trip to Detroit!

The Business Management and Administration students at CAHS attended an awesome field trip this year to Detroit. Students were able to observe several career possibilities related to management, and marketing while on this field trip. The first stop was to the Ford Rouge Plant located in Dearborn. Students observed the manufacturing side of business, and witnessed a Ford truck being built from beginning to end! Students were amazed by the 3-D theater and the documentary of Henry Ford, building this automobile empire from nothing.

The class then traveled to the Motown Museum to explore the buildings and famous recording studios, which once held Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder! Students were able to observe the recording industry and the contributions made by Barry Gordy, who built this industry using his entrepreneurial skills.

The next stop was Comerica Park, where students were greeted by the Director of Marketing, students gathered in the press box to listen to his job responsibilities, and outstanding opportunities his job in sports management has provided him. The class was able to investigate the visitors’ locker room and, the visitors’ dugout at the park. Students were inches from the field. The field trip ended by eating dinner at the Compuware building in downtown Detroit. Students had a great meal at the Hard Rock Café.

This was a wonderful opportunity to bring the real world to our business students! Please check out the Business classes at the high school. For more information please visit Mrs. Holt in Room 206, she would be happy to answer any questions! These classes are also opportunities to earn college credit while in high school, so don’t miss out!
