Hardworking Bulldogs at Dye

Congratulations to all of our Hardworking Bulldogs at Dye! Each Friday a student from each class who has done exceptional work on an assignment is chosen to have the work displayed on the Hardworking Bulldog Board. Keep up the great work!

5th Annual “Barry Saunders Classic” Takes Place April 26th.

On Friday, April 26th at 7pm  at the CAHS gym the Carman-Ainsworth Men at W.O.R.K and staff take on the Flint Township Police and Fire Departments in a basketball game. This fundraiser is the biggest one held by Men at W.O.R.K and is a fun event to attend.5th Annual "Barry Saunders Classic" Takes Place April 26th.

Student tickets are free, and adult tickets are $5.

There will be concessions, 50/50, and raffle prizes. Some raffle prizes include several rounds of golf, passes to UofM Rec. Center, Autographed Detroit Lions Football, and various gift cards.

There will also be a halftime free throw contest and clowns for the kids.

Interested in Playing High School Hockey Next Year?

Interested in Playing High School Hockey Next Year?Any 9th-11th grade C-A students that are interested in playing high school ice hockey next season that are not currently on the team are encouraged to contact hockey team booster club representative Dave Sanborn. His number is 449-1789. During the off-season there are opportunities to play this spring and workout this summer. We want and need all participants no matter your skill level.

Rankin Elementary 5th Grade Parents Meeting

Rankin Elementary 5th Grade Parents MeetingPlease plan to attend the parent meeting scheduled for April 18th at 6:00 p.m. this meeting will be held in the Rankin Gym. Please Note: this is also the same night as the 5th grade music program. Students are to report to the music room while parents attend the meeting. Dr. Tunnicliff, Superintendent; Mr. Summey, CAMS Principal; and Mrs. McGilvery will be meeting with parents to share opportunities available at the Middle School. This will be an opportunity for parents to ask any questions that they may have. Students will be taking a tour of the Middle School later this year.

 

AP Biology Students Partake in a “Hands On” Biology Lesson!

Students in AP Biology had the opportunity to dissect a fetal pig. Students learned a lot, and had fun taking a hands on approach to their biology studies.AP Biology Students Get a Hands on Lesson!

CAHS Students will Participate in the Steven Bryant All-Star Band at Western Michigan University

Carman-Ainsworth High School will be represented during an all-Michigan high school event at Western Michigan University on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Two all-star ensembles will be created as part of the 45th annual Spring Conference on Wind and Percussion Music hosted by WMU’s School of Music. The 106-member Steven Bryant All-Star Band will perform in Miller Auditorium. The Richard Suddendorf Repertory Band will spend time reading newly published works for band. CAHS Students will Participate in the Bryant All-Star Band at Western Michigan University

Band directors from over 47 Michigan high schools submitted nominations for those who will play in these two ensembles. The Bryant All-Star Band will be conducted by Steven Bryant this year’s guest composer, and Dr. Robert Spradling, Director of Bands at Western Michigan University. The Suddendorf Repertory Band will be hosted by University Concert Band directors John Lychner and David Montgomery. Professors from the WMU School of Music selected those who will have the opportunity to participate in these all-star ensembles.

Carman-Ainsworth High School will be represented in the Bryant All-Star Band by:

Clamentia Hall, Alto Saxophone, First Chair

Raven Pompey, Flute

Dreyana Barnes, Clarinet

The Spring Conference on Wind and Percussion Music will conclude with an evening concert featuring University ensembles and the Steven Bryant All-Star Band. The program begins at 7:30 p.m. in Miller Auditorium on the University’s Kalamazoo campus. It is open to the public, free of charge.

Rankin’s IROCK Celebration Update!

Rankin had their 3rd I Rock celebration in March. The participating students went above and beyond the expectations of Rankin.

Fifth Graders at Dye Celebrate Reading Month

Marchwas Reading Month and 5th Graders at Dye are celebrating with Hat Day.  Dye’s Student Council sponsored Hat Day and accepted donations to help fund our annual Book Give-Away.
