Help Recycle Markers

The Art room at Dye is recycling dried up markers. A collection box is located outside the Art room. If you have any old useless markers, any kind,  any color, simply drop them in the box. Last year we recycled over 4,000 markers. Let’s see what we can do this year.

Dye Elementary Recycles Paper

CAHS Students Participate In National Challenge of NaNoWriMo

Juniors in Carrie Mattern and Jessyca Mathews’ classes have been participating in the National Challenge of NaNoWriMo which begs writers to Write a complete Novel in the Month of November. Students wrote the first fifteen minutes of class every day and some wrote at night and on the weekends. The students set personal word count goals, although the national goal for them is 30,000 words, and the adult goal is 50,000 words. Overall, Mattern’s students wrote a total of 487,753 words for the month. Mattern, Mathews, and many students not only met their word count goals, but surpassed them. It was a challenging month of writing words, and now they will begin revising what they wrote which can be more duanting. Publishing is the final step, and many students are interested, so we will keep you posted.
