The Genesee-Lapeer Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering a series of FREE classes this summer.  This “Safety Summer” program will include a series of single-day, 1 ½ hour courses covering a range of health, safety, and disaster preparedness topics. The titles and dates are as follows:

WHALES TALES:  June 25th—A fun, water safety course for kids, but don’t worry, we won’t get wet today.

SAFE ON MY OWN:  June 27th—For those kids who spend some time “home alone” either before or after school.

MASTERS OF DISASTER:  July 23rd—Kids learn how to prepare for and remain safe during a variety of natural disasters.

BASIC FIRST-AID:  July 25th—Youth can learn those first stages of care for victims of accidents or illnesses.  Remember to call 911 first!

SCRUBBY BEAR:  August 20th—The best way to prevent the spread of germs that can make us sick is to WASH OUR HANDS!

PET FIRST AID:  August 22nd—We can offer assistance to our beloved pets until they can receive emergency care from a veterinary professional.

All classes are offered free of charge and will be held twice on each date:  first, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and again from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Snacks are provided.  Parents, please accompany your children.  Sign-up soon, though, because each class is limited to 15 children.
