ThinkstockPhotos-453263543Our program combines two crucial courses into one, Sanchin-Ryu Karate & Self-Defense and Project Secure Child (child safety). Students will be trained with proven, age-appropriate techniques that are necessary for kids to protect themselves from attackers. This program is set in a fun, yet structured, environment which will give your child a positive outlook on learning a martial art. We focus on healthy attitudes versus perfection. Participants will achieve strategies, drills and exercises they are lead through. Dye’s Showcase Concert 2015

On Thursday, April 23rd, about 60 of the third, fourth and fifth grade musicians at Dye Elementary performed in the 2015 Showcase Concert.  The concert began with all of the students singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Charge On, Cavaliers.”  Then the third graders took the stage, each of them taking turns singing duets for the verses of the traditional folk and popular songs they sang.  After that, the fourth graders were featured playing their recorders.  Next, the fifth graders performed a variety of songs, several of which included percussion accompaniments.  For the finale, all of the students returned to the stage and sang two closing songs together.  The concert was well received by a supportive and gracious audience.  The musicians celebrated with a Tootsie Pop treat after the show.

Elementary School Compact Surveys

Parents,

We want your feedback!

At the beginning of every school year, parents, teachers, and students sign an agreement called a Parent-Student-Teacher Compact. This compact shares what each group will agree to do to help our children learn.

We would like to know what parents want in the parent section for next school year. Please take our short survey by clicking on the links below from any computer.

We will also have the links posted on our school’s website. If you would like a paper copy of the survey, please contact Mrs. Sargent at 591-7061.

They survey will be open until April 20, and it only takes 1 or 2 minutes.

Dillon and Dye Elementaries participate In “Trip Around the World” Title I event

Families at Dillon and Dye Elementaries participated in the “Trip Around the World” Title I event during parent-teacher conferences on March 5th.  Students were able to explore science and social studies using books, maps, crafts, and games.  They identified the continents, followed directions on a floor map, and studied the differences between countries, states, cities, and neighborhoods.  The highlight of the night was the build-your-own brownie sundae to represent the layers of the earth!
