To sign up you MUST have the following documents, no exceptions:

  • Current ID for all adults in household (MI Driver’s License/ MI State ID/ Passport)
  • Proof of dependents in home (Social Security Cards/ Birth Certificate for newborns only)
  • Current Bills- bills must contain the name and address of the individual applying for assistance. Current bills include rent, mortgage, water, gas, electric, telephone, cable, etc..
  • Proof of income- pay stubs, child support statement, social security, SSI, SSDI, DHS statement, Unemployment, Workman’s Comp.

Old Newsboys

Registration period is October 29th  through December 21st . The number is 744-1840. Old Newsboys is located on 6255 Taylor Drive (off Hill Road between U.S. 23 and Van Slyke Road.)

  • Must bring: Drivers License or State ID, Social Security Card, Birth Certificates or Judgements of Legal Custody for each child enrolled, income document (2010 tax records, current MI Medicaid Card or Acceptance to Federal Lunch Program)

Toys For Tots

Registration period starts on December 3rd and runs through December 15th.  You can call 715-4401 for more detailed information.  Registration runs Monday through Saturday 9am-5pm.

Bendle/Carman-Ainsworth Toy Giveaway

Donations of gently used toys are graciously being accepted now until 12/4 at The Learning Community building.  Toys will be given away on Thursday, December 6th  2012 from 8:00 am-5:00 pm at The Learning Community. Contact Malinda Baker at 591-7208 for more info.
